I was born and raised here in Lucasville. I am the only daughter of Henry & Karen Smith and one of the few granddaughters of Charles & Ruby Adkins (Charlie’s Restaurant & Adkins Trucking). I started at Valley in Kindergarten and graduated in 1999. I went on to earn a Master’s degree from Ohio University. I have worked in healthcare since 2000 and started a medical practice as a nurse practitioner— Sammons Medical Services, LLC. My husband Ryan has worked in the Local 24 Sheet Metal Union for 25 years and builds houses in his free time. We are committed to making sure our children understand the importance of family values, the same values we were raised with:

Over the past 20 years, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to serve on several other community Boards and received specific School Board Member training, including:

  • Ohio School Boards Association Training

  • Leadership Institute Training

  • Scioto County Health Coalition—Committee Chair

  • Southern Ohio Hepatitis Prevention Board

  • Kids Tennis Association Board—Secretary

  • Scioto County Public Health Accreditation Coordinator

  • Valley Elementary PTO—President

I believe in 100% honesty in all areas. Nothing is more important.

Building trust in our school district and community requires transparency, willingness to work, and high expectations. My family and I have worked to give back to the community over the years, including:

  • Volunteering as tennis, soccer, basketball & cheerleading coaches

  • Delivering Christmas dinners to local families in need

  • Fundraising for school clubs

  • Organizing school events for students

  • Donating money to students, school clubs & events, local toy & food drives, and many more

Like other parents in our school district, we have three Valley students.

We’re here to stay. This is…

HOME.

Miracle Sammons, Class of 2023

Our oldest graduated from Valley with Honors and received a full tuition scholarship to Ohio University. While at Valley, Miracle was Vice President of the National Honor Society and volunteered over 250 hours to help her school and community. She also continued her tradition of supporting her school and earned a spot as an OU Bobcat Cheerleader.

Natalie Sammons, Class of 2034

Our middle child is in second grade this year. She has been working hard all summer on her Reading and Math skills. She loves to go to school. She also enjoys tumbling, playing basketball, swimming, and, of course— talking! She is super excited to have finally perfected her cartwheel!

Eva Sammons, Class of 2037

Our youngest child will be entering Valley’s Preschool program this year. She is working hard on counting and learning her colors— while staying as busy as possible until bedtime! She loves reading books together, coloring pictures, and tumbling class.
